Made for Monkey Jam 2024!

One peaceful summer's day, Connor was cycling along an ocean road. Out of nowhere, a mysterious figure appeared, and bestowed upon him a mysterious (and suspiciously vague) quest.

There is a boss at the end so dont give up!

Controls;

WASD/Arrow keys to move. Connor will automatically fire upwards for you.

Esc to pause.

Patch: We have made a post-jam update to fix bugs and get the game working as intended - See the developer update attached to the v2.2 upload to read patch notes.

General Tips:

• Look at your character. Enemies will eventually move past but your hp will never return.
• Your hurtbox is Connor’s entire body, but not the bike.
• The bottom corners are your friend. Many of the attack patterns tend to focus the center more, making it harder to stay alive there.
• Only enemy bullets hurt you, meaning you can run straight through enemies so long as they aren’t shooting at that moment.
• There’s a checkpoint at the start of the boss, so don’t panic if you lose there.

Boss Grizzle, Phase 1

• The attacks when Grizzle’s Goons move down to surround you are always the same. Make sure to make note of safe spots.
• After a goon is defeated, they will fall off their bike and Boss Grizzle will take their motorbike, before throwing it at you. Try not to kill goons when you aren’t ready to receive a motorbike to the face!
• The motorbike Bozz Grizzle throws damages enemies and allies alike. If you line yourself up properly, you could potentially get a huge chunk of damage on the enemies for free!

Boss Grizzle, Phase 2

• It’s really damn hard, so good luck.

Congrats to Bananapad987 for being the first to beat the boss! The video is one of his 3 clears!

Known Bugs:

• Player hitbox is Connor's entire body instead of just his helmet.
• Boss' face and sick shades are cut off
• Boss phase 2  radial attack doesn't hit (?)
• Boss phase 2 zig zag attack sprite is about 4x larger than it should be
• Laser doesn't have an initial hit that deals more damage (It's supposed to be able to clear out drones instantly).
• Cut-ins appear in the bottom left corner instead of the middle left
• Player can go out of bounds by holding two arrows keys at a corner
